  • What is Home Care?
Private duty home care is a service provided to elderly individuals who are in need of assistance with day-to-day activities. A private duty home caregiver visits your home or the home of your loved one and helps with activities such as meal preparation, housekeeping, and personal grooming and hygiene. A private duty home caregiver can also provide companionship for the elderly, as well as respite care to relieve family members who care for their loved ones on a regular basis. Private duty home caregivers make it possible for elderly individuals to stay home safely and enjoy the comfort and familiarity of a space with years of memories.
  • How is my Caregiver selected?
Legacy Home Care will work with you to assess the needs of both the client and family and then match an appropriate caregiver based on personality and experience. This caregiver will be issued after an initial meeting, with the goal of satisfying emotional, medical, and all other needs of the client. Most private duty home caregivers have years of experience, training, and have been subjected to criminal background checks for safety reasons.
  • Are Caregivers Registered?
All Legacy Home Care caregivers are registered with the State of California and go through a full background check prior to starting employment with Legacy Home Care.
  • How are Caregivers Trained?
Prior to being placed in the home with a client, caregivers go through our Legacy Home Care Academy. This consists of intense classroom training and field training, shadowing an experienced, licensed Home Health Aide. We provide caregivers with all the tools and skills they will need to provide the best care for the clients we serve. We also have continued education classes and continued support from our trainer, care managers, and client services director.
  • How much does Home Care cost?
Pricing is dependent on the type of need required and can range from anywhere between $30- $33/hour. We provide several payment options including ACH debit, check payments, and/or credit card payments. We will also work with you and your insurance company if you have long term care insurance.
  • Is There a Minimum Contract Length Requirement?
No. Legacy Home Care wants to meet your needs, and as your needs change, so will the services you receive. Our service agreement reflects this and adapts to meet changing needs.
